All attendees, including individuals scheduled on the official Academy of Management (AOM) Annual Meeting Program, are required to register and pay the appropriate registration fee to participate in any capacity at the Annual Meeting. This includes authors, editors, award recipients, coordinators, discussants, facilitators, hosts, distinguished speakers, moderators, organizers, speakers, participants, presenters, panelists, job interviewers, secretaries, treasurers, and any division-elected or appointed volunteers.
By registering to attend the Annual Meeting, you grant permission to AOM to take and use your photo, audio and/or video in marketing and promotional pieces, written publications, videos, and the association's website for an indefinite period.
AOM is excited for the opportunity to see each other in person again and to continue offering a vibrant, rich program to enable meeting with our global members.
The AOM 2022 Annual Meeting offers three experiences to enable widescale participation:
- In-person, on-site sessions in Seattle, Washington, USA 5-9 August
- Virtual-only sessions that include synchronous (webinar and meeting style sessions) and asynchronous (on-demand) sessions hosted on the virtual Annual Meeting platform 4-10 August
- Hybrid sessions comprised of a sizeable portion of select on-site sessions, live-streamed to include virtual attendance 5-9 August
Conference registration entitles attendees to access the following:
- Access to 1,800+ sessions.
- Access to on-demand and recorded sessions, abstracts, and supplemental material through 31 December 2022.
- Access to the AOM Career Fair which will be held both virtually and in-person.
- Enhanced COVID protocols for in-person attendees.
- Live Q&A and networking for all attendees.
Over 30 different journal sessions, including 'Reviewer Workshops', 'Publishing in' sessions, and meetings around academic fundamentals such as writing and developing and publishing research in the field of management.

By registering and attending the 82nd Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management, attendees understand and agree that participation in-person in Seattle, WA is entirely voluntary. Attendees agree to comply with all
COVID-related procedures implemented by Academy of Management, the city of Seattle, and the Seattle Convention Center (previously known as the Washington State Convention Center) based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). This
may include, but is not limited to: providing proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, proof of a negative test, wearing a mask, and observing social distancing requirements and restrictions placed on certain activities that carry higher COVID-related
risk. Attendees understand that COVID-related requirements put in place by the City of Seattle may change at any time.
The Academy of Management’s COVID-19 policy follows the mandates imposed by the city of Seattle to prioritize the health and safety of our in-person Annual Meeting attendees, exhibitors, and partners. By agreeing to attend, you understand and commit
to abide by these measures to ensure everyone's safety.
The Academy of Management will require all registrants to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to access the Annual Meeting sessions. The Academy of Management is working on a technology solution that will enable meeting registrants
to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination during the online registration process. In addition, the Academy of Management will require registrants to agree to submit a Personal Responsibility Waiver at the time of registration.
The Academy of Management has the right and duty to restrict access to anyone in violation of conference center, city, or state guidelines.
Registration Cancellations and Refunds
To cancel an Annual Meeting registration for any reason, the registrant must submit a cancellation request in writing to the Academy of Management at email@example.com. The registration fee is refundable until 18 July 2022 17:00 ET (UTC-5/GMT-5) and is subject to an $85 processing fee. When registration is cancelled, any Professional Development Workshops or social events for which the attendee has registered will also be cancelled. We are unable to provide a refund for cancellation after 18 July 17:00 ET (UTC-5/GMT-5) due to contractual obligations and guarantees. This also extends to any Professional Development Workshops and social events requiring separate enrollment. All eligible refunds will be issued in the original form of payment. If the information on the card has changed, you must contact the issuing bank with any questions. If the payment was made by check, a refund check will be issued to the original account associated with the check payment. Refunds are non-transferrable and cannot be applied to any future service, conference, or event. Refunds will be processed within 2-4 weeks of receipt.
Due to the heightened safety and screening measures and our prioritization of the health and safety of registrants in accordance with Seattle mandates and strict crowd/group requirements, guests are not permitted in conference sessions, events, or group functions and will not be issued guest badges. Guests are not permitted access to the convention center and AOM functions.
The Academy of Management strives to support its members through professional activities at the Annual Meeting. Due to the high safety and security needs, significant cost, and limited interest, the Academy of Management does not provide on-site childcare services. If attendees bring a dependent to the Annual Meeting, the attendee is required to make on-site childcare accommodations.
All conference attendees must wear official conference name badges to all Annual Meeting sessions, workshops, receptions, and events. Access to conference functions will not be permitted without a badge. Name badges are provided to all registered attendees. Members without an official conference badge will be asked to show proof of registration or to register for the conference. Accepted forms of proof include a registration receipt or a registration confirmation email. Failure to show proof of registration will result in removal from the conference and will subject registration violators to a formal ethics complaint. To facilitate interaction between participating exhibitors and attendees, AOM prints a bar code with each nametag which exhibitors can scan to retain that attendee's contact information, like what is found on a business card: name, postal address, email address, and phone number. This is an entirely voluntary exchange of information. Members who do not want their information given to an exhibitor in this way should not present their code for scanning. Exhibitors will not be able to access attendee data without their consent.
